Job Description
A hands-on role from preparation to finish
PReno is looking for a skilled drywall finisher and painter to support residential projects. The role includes taping, mudding, sanding, surface preparation, priming and finish painting.
You will work at active residential sites, sometimes independently and sometimes alongside other trades. Candidates with a stronger background in either drywall finishing or painting are welcome when they can confidently support related preparation and finishing tasks.
Hours, start date, compensation and engagement details vary by project and will be discussed with shortlisted candidates before work is confirmed.
Responsibilities
What you will do
- Apply tape, corner bead and joint compound through the appropriate finishing stages.
- Sand and inspect drywall surfaces to produce a smooth, paint-ready finish.
- Prepare walls, ceilings, trim and work areas before painting.
- Apply primer and finish coats cleanly using brushes, rollers or sprayers when appropriate.
- Protect floors, fixtures and occupied areas, and keep the work site orderly.
- Identify surface defects, communicate scope concerns and coordinate with the project team.
Requirements
What helps you succeed in this role
We are looking for reliable workmanship and practical trade experience. Formal education is not required.
- Proven drywall finishing and/or interior painting experience; no fixed minimum number of years.
- A consistent eye for detail and the ability to produce clean, professional finishes.
- Working knowledge of common hand and power tools used for drywall and painting work.
- Ability to perform the physical duties of an on-site trade role and work safely around ladders and active projects.
- Reliable attendance, clear communication and respect for clients' homes.
- Reliable transportation between project sites across Toronto and the GTA.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada. No formal education credential is required.
Service Area
On-site work across Toronto & the GTA
This is not a remote role. Project locations can include Toronto, Etobicoke, Mississauga, North York, Scarborough, Vaughan, Oakville and Brampton. Applicants must be able to travel reliably between job sites.
